Just what i was looking for a plain and simple phone without the gadgets. 10/10

Good simple phone, which can be used as a back-up phone & is sim free, so can be used for all networks!
Just what i needed at the time.

4 out of 5 stars Great basic phone.   August 27, 2010

This is a great - cheap - phone for those who want a no frills calling/emergency handset. Only thing I didn't like was the lack of any volume rocker/buttons on the side to turn the volume up/down during a call. Quite annoying to have to use the button on the front in the middle of a call. Other than that, the charge lasts forever and the quality is above satisfactory.

3 out of 5 stars A bit more basic than I expected   August 25, 2010

Don't get me wrong, I am happy with this product. It is simple in that it is just a phone and messaging machine (hooray!) no fancy add-ons that many of us just don't need or want. The battery life is fantastic but I have one gripe. The clarity of the screen (for someone who needs reading glasses) is less than ideal and the way the option for 'ring' 'send' or whatever is set up, it is not obvious which part of the screen you are supposed to choose (I have called many people inadvertently but perhaps this is because I find the screen difficult to decipher without my glasses!) This may just be me and I am already getting used to it. I think a couple of pounds more for a clearer screen would have been money well spent. However, for the price, anyone who wants a phone that does what a phone was intended to do can't go far wrong buying this.

5 out of 5 stars A good little phone   August 17, 2010

The Nokia 1208 is a cheap, reliable and robust no nonsense phone. My only criticism would be that the reminder capacity in the calendar seems rather small. It's nicely designed though and unlike some mobiles, which have buttons that are far too small, the keypad is easy to use and has a firm feel to it. The built in flashlight on the top end of it is a very good idea indeed and far more useful to me than the gizmos like cameras, voice recorders and radios built into more expensive phones.

The back comes off easily if you want to change the SIM or battery. The battery life on standby is good - I always leave my phone switched on and it only needs re-charging about once a week.

This is the second 1208 I've bought. As a budget priced phone they're hard to beat.
