5 out of 5 stars Nokia 6303   August 19, 2010
Mr. David J. Barton
What an excellent phone.

I bought this to replace a Motorola flip.

SIM free as I go overseas a lot.

For me its ideal. Holds loads of music and good quality sound. Alarm clock, calendar, organiser etc.

My digital camera failed me so I switched to the phone and was amazed at the picture quality.

Battery life is excellent and recharging quick. Reception is always good.

Nokia maps are highly recommended. Big mini SD card capacity 4GB.

Its a quality item, solid but a smooth outline.

Really excellent all round

1 out of 5 stars Poor signal in Cornwall   June 21, 2010

Bought this from Amazon after reading an online which report which rated the Nokia 5 stars for reception. They probably didn't test it in Newquay as I couldn't receive a signal in my house, or surrounding area. Trying to return it although Amazon are stating it hasn't been despatched yet four days after the phone arrived. Also did not find the basic functions very intuitive, and needed to refer to the handbook for simple operations such as how to switch the damn thing on. Replaced it with the Sony-Ericsson W595 which was stolen at work giving rise the need for replacement. No problem at all with signal now.

I purchased this camera, not from Amazon but via a large high st warehouse chain, the video recording facility was faulty (from new) a large wave runs across the screen and distorts the image.
Unfortunately I was unable to get it back to the shop within the replacement period so it was sent away for repair - I'm still waiting for it to be returned, (almost a month now) in addition the ringtone volume is very low and the screen image is of a low resolution - Not recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Bringing me up to date   May 25, 2010

Seems to do everything my previous Nokia mobile did except play the Hat Dance as the alarm call. I miss that (can anyone help?) but I like everything else about this phone. Well worth the money!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent phone, except for USB interface   April 30, 2010

I upgraded to this phone from a Nokia 6300.

I like this phone very much indeed. It's simple to use, and the corners are more rounded than the 6300 which means it's nicer to hold.

Battery life is excellent! I've had this phone 2 days now, and the battery indicator is still at Max with no charge up in the interim. Mine is set so that pressing the red hang up button once causes the time to be displayed in big digits - useful during in the night if you want to know what time it is without groping for your glasses!

A USB cable is provided with the 6303, but it's only about 6 inches long from end to end, which presupposes that the user has a USB socket available at desktop level. I do not, and so without buying a (very expensive) USB extension cable, I'm stuck with having to plug the phone into the back of my PC tower and leave it dangling there. For this reason, I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5.

EDIT: I've been able to order a 3m USB extension cable from Amazon at a cost of only £1.56.
